Here for a Good Time

This photograph captures a moment that, on the surface, looks simple. A bottle of champagne. Sunlight on wood. An ordinary afternoon at Scorpios.

But for me, it was anything but ordinary.

After nearly ten years in the corporate grind, this was the first time I felt like I’d truly arrived. Not in a loud or extravagant way but in the quiet realisation that the effort had finally tipped in my favour. That the pros now outweighed the cons. That I could sit still and actually enjoy what I’d built.

I never imagined I’d be the person buying champagne for my wife in Mykonos. Yet there I was, watching condensation bead down the bottle, music drifting through the air, the sea just beyond reach a genuine pinch me moment.

Here for a Good Time isn’t about excess or status. It’s about permission. Permission to pause. To enjoy the rewards of consistency. To recognise when a chapter has shifted or is about to.

A reminder that sometimes “making it” doesn’t feel like fireworks it feels like peace.
